Hereunder is a sample of Vietnam e-visa issued by the Vietnam Immigration Department. Actually, it is a completed visa for Vietnam that means you don't have to do any extra activities for entering Vietnam. Unlike a visa on arrival, you have to queue in lines at the visa counter at arrival airport waiting for a visa stamped onto your passport, e-visa Vietnam is totally a completed visa.
If you are eligible for e-visa, following documents are required to apply for Vietnam e-visa:
- Passport with at least 6 months validity following arrival date and 2 blank pages minimum;
- 1 passport sized photo;
- A soft copy of passport data page and portrait less than 2MB each file;
- A credit card which is allowed to make online payment;
1. Go online at and fill out the e-visa application form;
2. Upload your photo and passport data page;
3. Review the information and make payment. This service fee is not refunded if your application is refused;
4. Receive the visa application code and track your visa outcome after 3-5 working days;
5. Donwload e-visa using application code, email and date of birth data. Check your e-visa information carefully against your passport to ensure everything is correct. The date of arrival and arrival port can not be changed, so if you intend to enter Vietnam earlier or change the entry ports, new visa application will be required;
If the issued e-visa contains any wrong information in the full name, date of birth, passport numbers or entry ports then you will need to apply for new visa immediately.
- The wrong information includes the spelling mistakes, typo or incorrect number (date of birth, passport number, date of entry...);
- Input wrong entry ports (you might select Ho Chi Minh City Seaport instead of Ho Chi Minh City Airport). Please note that the entry ports can not be changed after the e-visa is issued;
- Upload the photos incorrectly that causes a lengthy e-visa process. Sometime it takes up 7-10 days and your visa outcome keeps returning "in processing" status;
- Apply an e-visa for the children in the same application with the parents, even the children have their own passports;
- Uncompleted payment after submitting visa application. You should check your visa status as soon as you complete your e-visa application and make the payment using your credit card or apply for a new one.
If you find out any mistakes in your e-visa, you need to correct it immediately by applying for new one. Sometimes you have just found the mistakes when your flight departure time is getting very close. In this case, an urgent/emergency Vietnam e-visa application is highly recommended.
There are some options for your urgent e-visa processing:
- Rush e-visa applciation: you will get an e-visa after 2 working days;
- Urgent e-visa applciation: you will get an e-visa within 1 working days;
- Emergency e-visa applciation: you will receive your e-visa within 4 working hours;
