Vietnam immigration for the visa waiver foreigners from 1 January 2015
Any foreigners who enter Vietnam and are unilaterally granted visa free entry must have a passport valid for at least 6 months, and the entry date must be at least 30 days from the previous exit
Question
Hi,
I am Singapore citizen who is exempted from Vietnam visa for 30 days. I have just entered Vietnam last week without Vietnam visa and I need to come back this week for my business. I wonder if I need to apply for a visa or I still have my Vietnam visa exemption for another 30 days?
Answer
Hi Charles Ng,
The Vietnam Government has just updated some regulations of the Law No. 47/2014/QH13 in June 2014 on The entry, exit, transit and residence of foreigners in Vietnam. These changes also effect to the entry and exit of the Vietnam visa waiver foreigners. According to the Article 20 of the Law No. 47/2014/QH13: Any foreigners who enter Vietnam and are unilaterally granted visa free entry must have a passport valid for at least 6 months, and the entry date must be at least 30 days from the previous exit.
In this case, you have just left Vietnam for 7 days you could not re-enter the country under the visa waiver privilege. You are pleased to
apply for Vietnam visa for your return.
